Cake Plate

Of course, the Cake Plate is an obvious choice for serving dessert, but it’s also just the right size for snacking. A trio of deviled eggs, some matchstick carrots and a dollop of hummus, a couple of clementines. If you're feeling fancy, use it as a bread and butter plate in a more formal table setting.

We wanted a plate that was equally beautiful and functional, so we fussed over all the details: the width of the rim, the angle of the slope, how it stacks, how it fits in the dishwasher, even what happens to your sauce on the walk from kitchen to table.

Before landing on this shape, we made prototype after prototype and took them all home for dinner.

Could you carry a saucy plate from the kitchen without sloshing? Cut into a pork chop without your knife running into the rim? How does it stack in a dishwasher?

The generous and full rim was designed to frame food beautifully, but also to be durable from chipping with everyday use.

Dinner Plate, Side Plate, Cake Plate: same shape, different amounts of real estate. One for meat-and-three, one for sandwiches and smaller suppers, and one for cake, toast, maybe a handful of olives.

Each size has a slight upward lip for spill-proof serving and easy stacking, and a plump bare clay rim to frame your masterpiece.
